About This Chapter
One year later, Jo-Ann receives her third dose of the coronavirus, which is the same as the first dose she received. Jo explains that the third dose is different, but that she will explain more at a later time. She says that she has been coming back to the hospital because the doctor was kind and helpful, and that he even informed her of many things. Jo says that the road that they pass on their way back from the hospital is the road she has walked with her for the past year, and she says that now that she thinks about it, her life has been "rotating around" her. She tells Jo that she is afraid of Kim ji-han, the scent of coffee in her hair, the soft whisper of her voice, and the wide open "ding dong" of her dreams. She asks Jo if there is anything she would like to watch, and Jo says she doesn't need a movie if she wants to sit over there. Jo apologizes that she feels like she's the problem here, and says she just wants to help Kim so that his problems don't matter to her. When Jo asks if she knows Kim's whereabouts, she says she is still a little hesitant to tell him, because if they meet again things might get difficult again
