About This Chapter
It's been a while since the two of them have been together, but now that they're back together, it's like they've been back together for a long time. The narrator explains that the two are now "fated mates" , meaning that they have the same body mass as one another, but they don't get along as well as they used to. He also explains that one year ago, he was revealed to be an omega, which means that he's fat. Now, he feels like he can't even touch him, because everyone is avoiding him. He's not even sick, he says, and he doesn't want to go back to school or home with him because he misses him so much. He says that when his grandmother suggested that they move, she told him that he and his grandmother should move to a different part of town because they'd be "predestined mates," meaning they'll be together forever. They're not going to be friends again, though, because the narrator says, "we're still not really friends. And if we are really mates," that means that they won't be able to have any more casual or serious relationships. He adds that if he had told him back then, they might've gotten together, and they would have enjoyed each other's company.
