The narrator introduces us to a new character, a young woman named Toriko. She's just returned from a trip to Europe, and she's in the middle of a conversation with her friend Hiroyuki, who's also back in Europe. Hiroyuki tells her that he's going to Europe to visit his family, and Hiroyuki is going to stay with his mom, who lives in a small town in the south of France. The narrator asks Hiroyuki if he'd like to meet the prince, but Hiroyuki says he doesn't want to, because the prince isn't kind to him. The prince is Hiroyuki's best friend, and the narrator says he'll give him his own, as well.
