This chapter opens with a conversation between a young man and a young woman. The young woman asks the young man about his life. He tells her that he has been working as a waiter in a restaurant and that he does not like the food. He asks her if she has depression and she tells him that she does. She asks him if he has social anxiety and he says that it is very common. She then asks him about the medicine that he uses to treat his depression. He says that the medicine has the name of the "scarecrow" and that it has been taken off the shelf. She tells him about a girl with him who is always picking up her slack and she says that he might be cheating on her. The girl is wearing the costume of a cat. She says that she wants to go to a mental health ward but that the costume is not going to work. She also tells the young woman that she has been invited to a meeting of the angels and she asks if she can wash the cakes for her. She is told that she is dead and that the cakes are from despair cafe. She goes on to say that a man came in the other day and asked if he could buy a depressed chocolate cake to give as a gift to his younger sister. He was told that he had come to buy the cake because he was depressed. He then tells the girl that he was invited to the meeting of angels but that he could not figure out what his problem was. She apologizes for not being able to figure out his problem and he agrees that it will take some time for the p-xil to kick in.
