About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that he has become very close with his family. He even shares clothes with his mother and father, and they go shopping together. He's depressed that his mother's health has improved so much, but he's also happy that he'll be able to spend more time with his father. He tells us about the orange pills that are prescribed in Japan, and how they make his mother laugh at the pain she feels. The narrator is also depressed that he hasn't been able to sleep well lately. He wants to go back to bed, and he tells the narrator that he needs his help. He complains that his medicine isn't working, and that he wants to get some new ones. He finds a book in the room, which the doctor told him is a hallucinatory. The doctor said that the book was a "hallu cination," and the narrator swears that it has been for years.
