In this chapter, we meet yuzu, a young woman who has been trying to crossbreed a number of cherry trees to create a new family tree. She tells us that she is saddened by the fact that her cherry tree cannot produce fruit because it does not have a family. She says that she hopes to paint the mountains with the blossoms of her new trees.
