In this chapter, we learn that the man who planned to marry the girl is still in love with her. We learn that he has been planning to marry her for seven years, but that the other men in his life have ruined the plans. He has also planned to meet her on her birthday, but has instead planned to visit her at her school, where she is currently studying. He then plans to tell her family that he loves her, and then he will tell his grandfather, who will have no reason not to approve of the marriage.
