In this chapter, we learn that the young teacher, Ming, is trying to find a private tutor to help her find a girlfriend. Ming asks the tutor, feng jing, to come to a dinner party at her house. The tutor tells Ming that he doesn't know who the hostess is, but he suspects that she's trying to get Ming to marry her. Ming says that he's not going to the party, because he knows that feng jin is involved. He also warns Ming that if she gets too close to the hostess, she'll get into trouble with her employer, Qing chuan. Ming and the tutor agree that they'll live happily ever after.
