The next morning, Cominius and Desdemona discuss the events of the previous night. They are aware of the danger that they face, but they do not want to risk their lives in order to protect Devin. They do not wish to be caught in the crossfire of the battle, and they are afraid that if they are killed, they will not be able to return to their homes. They also fear that if Devin is killed, their homes will be destroyed, and that they will be forced to flee the country. They decide to stay and wait for the outcome of Devin's assassination.
