"Long live the king" , says the ghost of the king. The ghost asks the king if he has a solution to the problem of reincarnation. The king replies that he does, and the ghost says that he has one last request. He wants to know when he will be able to see light again. He wishes to be rid of evil, he says, but he became evil in the end. He feels like he is in hell, and he wonders if he will ever be accepted in heaven. He wonders if the people of the kingdom have animal ears, but they do not have ears. He says he has dabbled in fencing, archery, and school, but that is the end of it. He does not want to be involved in some "twisted summoning ritual" . He asks if the king needs a doctor, but the king says he does not, and that he will go his own way. He tells the ghost that he is a royal advisor to the king, and not a peasant like the fox lady. The fox lady's body language resembles that of a peasant when she first met him, and she asks if there is anything to eat. She says there is no food to eat, and her subjects are dismissive of her guests. They will follow them on foot, she says, and they will get grilled. They are going to get grilled, ever, pant they arent barons, baronesses. They come from an honorable line of just marriages, and when peasants do not want their families to be conscripted, they find tribute and force peasants to go in place of them as slaves. They keep robbing them on these roads. They say they will lay low until they can get to their house, and then they will take a roundabout route to get there. They decide to flank their way down, and if they can't get there in time, they'll retreat.
