In this chapter, we learn that the new manager at the job where Nemo works is a "weirdo" . Nemo tells us that he's just trying to make his co-worker "little bit cuter" , but he'd still like to spend some time with her. He's not sure if the manager is really a fan of him or not, but it's clear that Nemo doesn't want to be a part of the "weirdos" world of work. He wonders why Nemo's friend Aha is going out with the manager, and he wonders if Nemo is thinking of Aha. Nemo tries to calm him down, but Aha reminds him that Nemo is looking down on him, and that he should "keep a tight rein" on his thoughts. Nemo says he'll be free the next day, so he looks forward to having Aha over for dinner. Aha tells Nemo that she's coming to dinner, and Nemo is psyched to have her over. He tells Aha that he needs to "hold out in broad daylight" so he can get to work on time. He asks Aha to show him the ropes, and Aha assures him that the job is a popular one, and they'll hire again soon. Nemo wonders if Aha and Nemo have gotten along too well lately, and whether or not Nemo is his "biggest fan." He says that he hasn't gotten to talk much with Aha lately, but that they haven't always gotten along this way.
