The next morning, Dr. Rivers and Dr. Bledsoe discuss what has happened to the family. Rivers says that he has been in the hospital for three days after the crash, and that he is now able to leave the hospital with no brain damage. He says he has never seen his parents' bodies, but that he would be too traumatized to see them if he saw them. He asks if he offered to help him, and he says that it is more painful to know that they are dead than to know they are alive. He thinks that his farm is being used by smugglers to move cattle and people undetected. He also mentions that a cow has been mutilated there recently, and the man who owns the farm seems to believe in the conspiracy theories. He suggests that they could set up surveillance at the farm, and Rivers says he is not far gone. The next day, he found one of the family's cows missing, and thinks that it might have been taken by a strange creature. He has shot at it and sent it back to the woods. He is sure that they will catch whatever is taking the cattle. He tells Rivers that they have arrived and that they've been picking up "electromagnetic radiation" . They are about to head into the woods to investigate, but Rivers warns them to keep their eyes on the ground.
