About This Chapter
Back at the farmhouse, Carthsweld thanks everyone for their help in getting the cows back. He tells everyone that he's going out into the woods to look for the "cult symbol" . He also tells them that the symbol has been there for a long time and that someone once lived there and left the place in a hurry. He says he'll let everyone know if there are any more updates during the investigation . They're going to set up some surveillance equipment in the lounge and upstairs, and they'll also look for someone to open a window and smell like a crackhouse. Helen says that if anyone saw a ghost floating down these halls, it would probably be the least interesting thing they could see. He adds that he knows there's a lot of talk about ghosts in the town, but he doesn't want people to get too excited about the possibility that there might be a ghost in the house. The town is alive, he says, and the "paranormal" isn't yet seen.
