About This Chapter
In this short scene, Jack explains that he and the others have been searching for his missing daughter in the woods for forty miles. He tells Jack that he is not a cop, because he knows what it is like to lose a loved one. He says that he will not stop looking until they find her. Jack says that sleeping on the ground is like a waterbed, except the water is on the outside. He adds that if he gets back, he is sure that his "egg - head friends" will be there to help him. Jack asks if he has ever wanted to have a normal life, and Jack replies that he has. He explains that when he was a young nurse tending to him, he and his new wife went on a few dates, and before they knew it, they had a baby girl. They moved into their new home and Jack still remembers her face as they walked up to her casket. Jack promises that they will find his daughter, and he promises to take a watch.
