In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character named Jed. We learn that Jed is the leader of the rebellion against the Queen's daughter, who has been adopted by the Queen. Jed tells us that the rebellion is being led by a "high-level rogue" who opposes the King's kingdom. He tells Jed that the King does not recognize Jed's "forgotten vain royals," and that the people who consume the negative energy of the people around them are being treated like "fugitives." Jed, however, is not so sure. He wants to kill Jed so that the contract between the King and Jed can be annulled, and that selina can return.
