In this short scene, Desdemona and her sister are introduced to the world of the entertainment king. They are brought to his palace, where they are told that they are to live with him. The king tells them that he is willing to take them in as long as they are willing to live in his house. He also tells them to be patient with him because he is a famous entertainer and he will be their savior. He tells them not to worry about the rent because he will pay them a salary. He then tells them they can stay as long they want. He says that his life is in his hands and that everything that happened to him is real, including his contract with the previous manager.
