In this short scene, Desdemona and Selia exchange their lives in exchange for each other's. Selia promises to do anything for her brother in return for his life. When she sees that her brother is breathing, she is overcome with emotion and swears that she will do her best to save him. She tells the audience that she is now her own boss and that her relationship with her boss is "so much deeper" than that of her brother. She also reveals that she has made a secret deal with her employer.
