After the concert, the band returns to the hotel where they have been staying. The shadow asks Maria if they can have a rehearsal the next day, and Maria says yes. He tells her that he has a letter for her to deliver, and that he will be back by the end of the day. He says that the city has tightened its security because the "power of sorrow" has been stolen, and the "other stones" are being "tar-geted" . He asks if the man who is following Maria is watching her, and she says that he is, and he says that if he needs to speak to him, he will take over if he is his boss. She says that she just met the woman who attacked her the day before, and wonders who that woman is. He wonders if the woman is a "bigwig ocean" , and says that it is hard for them to keep everything safe through out the festival, so they help them out a lot. He wants to know what is going on, and asks if he knows where he came from, and if he can dance, sing, and eat.
