About This Chapter
Roxane wakes up in her apartment. She smells something cooking in her neighbor's kitchen. She's not sure if it's the food or the smell of her own house, but she's pretty sure it is. Roxane asks why she didn't do this before, and the answer is that she doesn't want to be an angel, because she can't live in paradise and die if she stays too long. She tells Roxane that she can grow old, just like her mom, and that's how she'll die. She asks Roxane if she can flatter him so that he'll cook for her again, and she says that she'd flatter him if she could do it that easily. She says that if he could achieve it, he'd already been in paradise already, but that he needs to find a way to get there.
