About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that an agent's intuition is the key to his or her success in the field of law enforcement. The narrator tells us that this is the last thing an agent needs to know, and that it's the only thing he or she needs to learn. He tells us to " hone your intuition" and to "believe it" . He then tells us how to "swish" , which is to say, "scare" someone, so that they won't think he's a stalker. He also tells us not to worry, because he'll be fine. He's not a stalker, he tells us, and he doesn't want to be one. He wants to be friends with her, he says, but he also wants to protect her from the guy who's stalking her right now. He asks her not to tell her family about it, and she says she'll do it. She tells him to trust her, too, because she's here to "watch" her, not to watch her friend. She also tells him not to be afraid, because the guy is annoying and she can't stand him. She's going to let her friend have a good time, she says, and they'll eat at the best ramen restaurant in town. She asks if she often eats there, and the narrator tells her that he'd tried the place before, but that he hasn't been able to find anyone to accompany him. He says that he still has a crush on a guy, and this is a good sign.
