In this chapter, we learn that King Damar's son, Geric, is being pursued by the ghost of Geric's father, who has hired Geric to protect him. Geric asks Geric why he is protecting his son, and Geric tells him that he is helping spirits and humans to solve their problems in the afterlife. He also tells Geric that Geric hired him to protect Geric because Geric is the "Connector of the Two Worlds" , meaning he is one of the key masters of both worlds. He tells his father that he has been working for Geric since the beginning of the story, and that he and his father have been building the company together. He says that he honored Geric as his older brother, and all his hard work and sacrifices have been no less than his father's. He feels hurt by Geric taking the job, and he resolves to help Geric.
