One year later, in a hospital, the two of them meet again. One day, Kujyo suddenly stops coming to school, and the distance between them is so great that it feels like they've never met again. When she asks him what's going on, he tells her that his mother died from the same sickness that's been plaguing him. She tells him that she got a gift from him, but that she can't cry because she's afraid that the gift will go away if she cries. She asks him to wake her up, and he does.
