About This Chapter
The monster tells the citizens that they must destroy all humans. He tells them that he will protect them all, but that many will die. The citizens are amazed at the monster's ability to defeat the wrong planet. They ask the hero to help them rebuild their buildings. The hero says that he is not greedy and that he just wants 80 percent of the money. A few months later, the monster says that they have to contribute another 20 percent of their income to help rebuild the buildings. He asks the hero if he can still breathe, and the hero replies that he can. The monster asks where all the other monsters came from. He says that the hero is dead meat, and asks the monster to take off his body to see if he has any breath left. The man replies that it is a good idea to take the body off to check for breath, because the monster is hungry and thirsty. He then tells the monster that the new hero will come and kill the monster, and that they will use the money to build their own underground government. The narrator says that if the monster reappears, the citizens will not worry, because they will have a hero to save them.
