About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that the town is called "monster town" because it is inhabited by monsters. It's dark, and the sky is always covered with their dark aura. The narrator says that the new toothbrush is the company's "new product" . He tells the detective to get lost, but the detective doesn't know what to do, so he runs after the monster. The monster says that he's his shadow with his luck, and he'll be with the detective. The detective says that it's too late, because the monster has already left. He says that now is the time for him to come out, play, and be a part of the monster's body. He asks the detective not to join his party, because now he will become part of his body, and they'll have to "scorn my fun" every time they meet. But the detective says he has to do his job, and that's fine, because he can just scratch his back and be done with his job. Then the monster says, "it's okay" , and thanks the detective for saving his life. He's going to give the detective the honor of becoming his victim, and in return, the detective will get to be his "victim." The detective is confused, and thinks that the tentacle on the detective's head is actually his body. The tentacle is just part of a plan to fish the detective out of the town. The guy hugging the detective is just a "puppet," and the guy who is holding the detective now is just "my tentacle." The
