In this chapter, we learn that we're back in the present, where we've been following the events of the previous chapter. We're introduced to our narrator, celine, who's been following her best friend, davin, ever since he left the house. She's so upset that she can't stop crying. She tells davin that she's always there for him, and she'll always stand by him no matter what happens. She also tells him that he's his bestie since high school, and that he can cry his heart out for her. She asks him how the whole thing went, and he tells her that davin didn't say anything about any of the photos. He did say that he has feelings for a girl named jane, whom he met in the book store. He's also the one who keeps approaching her, even though he already knows that she isn't his girlfriend. He doesn't seem to have changed at all, and celine tells him to try to think about his feelings for jane. She says that she knows that jane is to blame for all of this, because she was the one to make davin feel uncomfortable around her. It's time for celine to tell jane what's going on, so she asks her if she thinks there's anything wrong between them, and if so, what did she do to make him feel uncomfortable. She suggests that celine try to take some time to think it over, and then they'll go find some food to eat.
