In this chapter, we are introduced to Minola, a young girl who has just returned from a trip to India. She is very excited to be back in her home country, but she is also very concerned about her doll, which is missing from her room. Minola tries to convince her that she is doing a good job with the doll, but Minola is adamant that she will not compromise on her doll.
