Lingyan, the princess of western xia, is engaged to a prince of the western kingdom, who is named Fengpan Zhao. The wedding date is set for another day, but Lingyan insists that she be allowed to stay in the prince1s manor. The prince, however, refuses to allow her to stay. Lingyan tells Biyuan that he is not welcome in the manor, and that she will have to leave when she is ready to move in. Biyuan tries to find out what is going on, but he feels that the princess is too affectionate towards him. He feels that his feelings for the prince will be lost to anyone. They are in love, and they are both in love with each other.
