In this short scene, we get a glimpse of what it's like to be a part of the fight between Margo and the monster. We learn that the monster is beginning to understand that the chieftain's power is so great that he's trying to use it to his advantage. He's also beginning to realize that he doesn't have to fight with the monster in order to get what he wants. This is a big deal, because it means that Margo can't use the power he has to get revenge on the guy who beat him down. It's kind of a bummer, since Margo's got a lot riding on this fight. But, hey, the odds are against him.
