In this chapter, we learn that the narrator wishes that he could change the rules at school. He's sure that it's fate that brought him to the school, but he can't figure out why he wouldn't ask other people to join in the cause. He tells us that he's the only one who needs to "sulply our hands" in the "love madness" . He says that, thanks to the generation, his power is "twice as powerful" as those of the "heartbroken generation" because he can "take 'lessons' from his head" and "teach 'it' to his target" using his hands.
