"stage mu doubts" is the title of the chapter's opening soliloquy. It's a bit of a mouthful, but it's all very clear: the narrator is worried about her hair. She's worried about what's going to happen to her, and she's also worried about the fact that elena and Hiro aren't going to be able to come to visit her. The narrator promises to make up for it, and the two of them go outside to play a little game together. She also tells the narrator about the broken controller in her house, and how she'd rather play a game with her grandmother than play with a broken console. She asks the narrator to give her a favor: she wants to ask him to change his last name to "June Lee." The narrator doesn't know what to think, but he's pretty sure that's what she'll do.
