About This Chapter
Chapter 11 opens with a discussion between the Governess and her daughter about the upcoming play. The Governess tells her daughter that she's tired of all the rules of society and that she needs a "connection" with her "eternal beauty." She asks her daughter if she can reserve the stage to make the play a little while longer. She tells her that if she doesn't come back tomorrow, she'll turn her over to the authorities. She says that she won't stop until she gets a yes from the authorities, even if it means she has to go to the police station. She also says that her daughter is a fine heroine, but that she hasn't seen a vampire anywhere. She asks if her teacher told her that all vampires were half-vampires and had to die, and she says that it's her teacher who told her not to let her do it. She adds that her teacher's warning has made her even more determined to fight the undead.
