In this chapter, we learn that the vampire hunter, the "beta" of the group, has been busy gathering information about the vampire's presence in the village. He has placed a "drag" at the entrance of the village to discourage people from entering, and he has also placed "goose" , which is a kind of vampire goo, in the center of the town. He explains that he and the other members of the vampire team are still trying to figure out what the vampire is up to, but that they will keep an eye out for any signs of vampire activity.
