It's been awhile since the narrator has had a "pleasant dream." He tells dal that he's just been promoted to the department manager position at his company. He's the youngest manager at the company, which means that dal has to treat him to a fancy dinner. The narrator says that if he gets married and has a child, she won't have to sacrifice her career because she'll be able to do whatever she wants. She'll just have to do what she wants to do. But because of her child, he has to pay his child's education fees. And because of his daughter, she has to take an entrance exam to get into the university. He says that he was right that he wouldn't exist, and that she would still be someone like that if she hadn't fallen in love with him. He also says that dal said that this place was good, but that she'd cry less if he wasn't there. He doesn't really feel sad about it, though, because it means that he isn't a part of this place anymore. And that means he can't make dal happy, even though he told dal years ago that he would never leave. He asks dal if he'd mind if he tells him about himself, and he says yes, of course he would like to hear it. He explains that he came to the United States 30 years ago and stopped his parents from coming together. But now he doesn1t belong anywhere. And why did he forget that he belongs next to him? He says he overcame his obstacles after he met dal, when dal confessed his feelings for him when he thought he was sleeping. He adds that he thinks what dal told him is a lie, because he didn1t remember that he told him he was a selfish person. And he says he won1t let dal go.
