In this short scene, we meet a new student at a new school. He's just started at the school, and already he's an outcast. He tells us that he used to be in a dance couple with another student, but they were never able to get along. Now he wants to dance with another girl, but he doesn't have a partner. He asks the other student, who's named San, if he knows how to get a partner, and he says he does. The other student tells him that he needs to find someone soon, because they've been dancing together for three years, and they haven't been able to find anyone yet. He wants to know if it's really hard to get two people to dance together, since Banba has lost all of her weight. She's so pretty, he says, since she's lost so much weight. He also asks if he can dance with someone named makabe, who is skinny and quiet. He says he'll dance with him, too, and that he'd like to see Banba, too. We learn that the other students in the class are skinny, and one of them, named fujita, has a girl friend named kun. The girl friend, named tatara, has been dancing with a guy named jinbo, and the girl, named banba, is skinny too, so they're supposed to be dancing together. But the girl in tatara's class, named karen, has two skinny friends, and she and her friend are dancing with another guy, named gaju, who looks like he has a crush on a girl named kubota. We're not sure why, but the girl
