The narrator begins this chapter by saying that he feels like he is in a galaxy and that he is surrounded by 45 companion galaxies. He says that he does not understand everything that is going on around him. He wonders why he feels so flustered when he is dancing with his partner, and he wonders if it is because he is not in control of his dance partner. The narrator says that dance is not a career, and that some people are better than others at their first dance. He asks them how they stay together, and they tell him that it is like body language. He thinks that this is beyond them, because they are not out there dancing, paying attention to their partner. He feels that if he lets his partner take control of him, he will act more than he believes in himself.
