About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that the two of them have been invited out to a hot spring party by sensei Tenpei. When Tenpei asks if he should stop dancing, he is told that it is good for his leg to be out in the hot sun. Tenpei then tells us that sensei has invited him to the party because it is nice to tease him when they do have time to spend together. He tells Tenpei that he thinks he should have been out first in the first round of dancing and that he should not have tried to talk to him in a "gabble" manner. He says that he is sure that if he had been out, he would have been able to get better than his friend, who is "flat chest." Tenpei tells him that he must be careful not to get into trouble with his friend because he is a "poor shizuku" . He then tells him to stop talking to him and to stop trying to get him to dance better than he is. He asks Tenpei if he means to "get better than me," and Tenpei replies that he does not mean to get back to his friend. He adds that he would never be able to dance as well as he does if he were not invited to the shindig. He also says that anyone who learns the steps and starts dancing can feel that he can dance and that this is a great thing in dance because it makes people feel like they can dance. He goes on to say that if they do not learn the steps, then they will feel that they are not good enough to dance. Then he says that they must be perfect in each of the four dance categories. He mentions that his friend is dancing with her son and that she is telling him about the dance. They begin to discuss the category of foxtrot, and then they discuss
