In this chapter, we are introduced to Benio and his mistress, Amata. Benio has been invited to a party in Amata's honor, where he is to meet with Amata and her fiance, Hiroyuki. Hiroyuki is also at the party, but he is unable to attend because he is away on business. As a result, Benio is forced to accompany Amata to Hiroyuki's house.
