In this chapter, Mina tries to convince herself that she's still in love with Nemo, even though he's been "pining after" her the whole time. She's worried that Nemo's "ered" and that Mina's going out with him. Mina tells herself that if she had a boyfriend, she'd be out of work, but if she has a crush on Nemo, she can stay in her room. Mina and Nemo head off to the "culture fair" at the high school. Mina asks Nemo if he can hear her, and Nemo says that he can't. Mina thinks that Nemo must be lying, because she saw him and shizuka together. Mina says that she figured that, if she just kept looking at Nemo, he'd eventually be able to find her. She wonders why Nemo couldn't have been so nice to her, since he could have killed a little boy if he wanted to. Mina wonders if she needs to "stop her boy" , but didn't she ask Nemo to ask her to begin with? Mina says she'll be there to protect her, but that she doesn't want to die on her.
