About This Chapter
In this short scene, the young bride-to-be tells the empress that she will not marry anyone in the kingdom of the People's Republic of China who is not her own father. The empress tells her that she is responsible for her own affairs, and that she should not interfere in the affairs of the emperor of the kingdom. The young bride tells her brother that she does not want to be emperor. She tells him that she has heard that the princess of the Su kingdom is the most beautiful woman in the world, and she wants to leave the emperor's palace. She also tells him about the imperial notice that has been placed in her luggage. She asks him if he plans to hand her over to the emperor for the reward, and if he does not plan to go back, then she won't force him to do so. She says that the man who tried to kill her on the street is the adopted son of Sunqin Zhang, who is a member of the ruling faction in the country. The two countries are in a civil war, and the marriage between them is intended to bring peace to the two countries.
