About This Chapter
The chapter opens with a knock at the door. It's Hiroyuki's turn to come in. He's been working hard on his committee work, and he's ready to leave. Hiroyuki tells him that since they're talking, Hiroyuki can go. He doesn't want to take his work so seriously, since it would be troublesome if Hiroyuki didn't finish his work on time. He tells Hiroyuki that it's better to be friends with people like him, because they don't look down on each other. He says that Hiroyuki is more fun to hang out with than people like Hiroyuki, who are like, "Oh, I'm just a bookworm." Hiroyuki says that he'd rather be friends than with people who look down upon others. He adds that he thinks Hiroyuki and Manaka are more fun than people who are just like him. He asks if he can join in on the conversation, and Hiroyuki replies that he can, since he has already finished talking with Manaka. The door is still open, so Hiroyuki asks to be let out. He tries to explain that he was just telling Manaka the truth, and that he made Manaka depressed. He apologizes for causing Manaka to be depressed, and says he'll protect him if anyone does anything to him because of it. He wants to get to know him better, and wants to ask him if he would protect anyone if something were to happen to him as a result of this conversation. He promises that he won't do anything to anyone,
