The chapter opens with a conversation between a young woman and an older man. The young woman tells the older man that she wants to be happy, but that she doesn't want to be the one who destroys the company. The older man tells the young woman that she is the first one to report on the incident with the doctor, and that he must have done a great deal of research to find out what caused the incident. He tells her that he and the other members of the company have been working on a plan to prevent similar incidents in the future. She tells him that she has to prepare a report for the next meeting on July 11th. She says that she took the job because she wanted a new bag, but the men carried it away because they were too small. She complains that she had sex with the man, and he told her that she should share the responsibility for the incident even though she did not have sex with him
