The narrator feels a little "winded" because he's tired of excuses. He's also tired of his brother's "overwhelmed" and "cold" behavior. He wants to know why his brother is so gentle with his sister. He tells her to "respect love first" and not to "kick the flower pot with your shoes" . He also tells her not to push the guy in front of her "into the pond" or he'll beat her. The narrator thanks her for helping him out today and tells her that her sister will be gone the next day. She's welcome to stay.
