Mr.reaper tells the reader that he's been slacking off with his homework. He's even started calling her "eri" , which is a reference to the fact that she's a black magic girl, and he doesn't know why he hasn't been able to finish his homework yet. He also tells us that the chief gave her an assignment to work as a rent-a-room clerk so that she wouldn't have to worry about being able to pay her rent, and that's why she was able to get through her homework. The narrator then tells the audience that the only reason he'd be able to complete his homework is if he were able to sneak out of the room and beat up the evil spirit from the previous chapter.
