About This Chapter
The next morning, the chief and his men return to the infirmary. The chief asks why no one has sent the girl's soul yet, and the chief says that he bears some of the responsibility for not having suspected anything. He tells the chief that he has been worried about him, and that it is a good thing he was there to help. He says that the man is based at head quarters and that he is a member of the sorcery section. He explains that the dead's thoughts and emotions can transform to curses and threaten the lives of the reapers. He also says that ordinary reapers are not equipped to deal with such situations, since they do not know how to handle such situations on their own. He asks the chief if he would be offended if he took the lead of the briefing, and he says that since he is here, he would not be offended. He goes on to explain that the case was within the jurisdiction of the section two and that the section one was sloppy in distributing the task. He adds that the fact that the chief returned unscathed despite the incident is a miracle. He then says that they have been told that the soul of the dead woman is not ready for burial, but that she has already left her body
