About This Chapter
Sarashina is in love with the prince of Spain. She is so happy to see him sleeping with her that she wants to kiss him. She asks him to kiss her, but he refuses, saying that it would be inappropriate for him to do so. She tells him that he is the only person who knows about her love for the prince, and that he should not be afraid of anyone else. She then asks him if he would change his mind if he were to play the part of the prince. He says that he would not change his decision if he knew that it was going to be the prince's turn to sleep with the princess. He then asks her if she would change her mind if she were to do the same role with another man. She says that she would do it if only she were as beautiful as the other women in the play. She goes on to say that she thinks the play was good, but that she cannot go back to the theater now because she has to go to a rehearsal for the play
