In this chapter, the narrator tells us that he's still in love with his employer, and that he wishes he could become a wife. He's leaving his job to take a new one, and he tells his employer that he wants to ask him for help with a problem. He tells his boss that he can't do the job because he has so many other things to do. He also tells him that his boss, Akishima, has been working for the same company as him for the past two years, and has been getting more and more requests for his services. He says that he doesn't want to be a burden to his boss because he'd rather have a "vibrant tone" instead of a "moderate one." The narrator is worried that his employer is making him sound like a "bad guy," and he begs his boss not to make him sound that way.
