The narrator tells us that the bird girl is trying to find a mate. She's worried that the man she's looking for might find out about her secret. The narrator reassures her that she'll be fine. The bird girl tells the narrator that she doesn't want to be found out. She wants to talk to the man and work things out with him. But the narrator tells her that it's just like a person and a bird don't get along. She also tells the girl that she shouldn't have made the choice to be alone with the man in the first place.
