This chapter opens with a flashback to the events of the previous chapter, in which Hirokazu awakens in the middle of the night and realizes that he is being followed by a group of men. The men are carrying a suitcase, which they have retrieved from the lockers at the entrance to the station. The narrator explains that he has come to retrieve the suitcase because he wants to reveal the identity of the man who has kidnapped him. He tells the men that he will be showing them the contents of the suitcase, and then he will reveal the man's identity.
