In this chapter, we are introduced to Hiroshige, the new president of the pharmacy. He has just been sworn in, and he is about to begin his term when he is interrupted by Hiroyuki, the president's assistant, who asks him about his plans for the future. Hiroyuki tells him that he plans to focus on "brain function" , and Hiroyuki replies that he is thinking of doing so, too. The two exchange pleasantries, and then Hiroyuki prepares to leave.
