When the wolf comes back, the narrator moans about the murders he's committed. He's tired of feeling sick all the time. The doctor will see him now, he tells the narrator, and they need to keep him in a hospital for a few days to get him better. The narrator asks the doctor what he can do to kill him, and the doctor tells him to look into his eyes. He says he'll never be dead, but he can feel some things, like money. He tells the doctor to keep the drip of blood in his eyes, and then he asks if he can open his eyes and find Casanova. He wants to know what she'd find inside of her, and she tells him that she's the mistress of intel, planning, and strategy. They've had a breakthrough in their pursuit of the element, and now they need a team to build an experimental aircraft that can run off the element. They need a ground team to help them, too, since they're planning to attack the element from the air. They don't want to shoot at it, though, because it's not safe for them to do so.
